Dr. Matthew J. Oberley joined Caris Life Sciences in 2019, initially helping to manage the Caris Precision Oncology Alliance™. He currently serves as Senior Vice President, Executive Medical Director, leads the Caris Digital Pathology enterprise, and is responsible for overall quality of the clinical precision medicine laboratories.

Dr. Oberley also provides leadership for Caris’ growing Pathology and Molecular Genetics group which includes over 35 board-certified pathologists and molecular geneticists. He has coauthored over 125 journal articles, book chapters and abstracts in the areas of molecular biology, diagnostics and hematologic malignancies. Prior to Caris, Dr. Oberley was on the faculty at the University of Southern California and Director of Hematopathology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Dr. Oberley received his MD and PhD from the University of Wisconsin – Madison School of Medicine and Public Health and is board certified in Anatomic, Clinical and Hematopathology.
